Penarol has never been relegated from the top tier of Uruguayan football Penarol. Because of this, the club nicknamed Decano can have a total of 111 trophies.
Penarol has won the league 51 times. They also have a collection of five Copa Libertadores trophies, the last of which they won in 1987.
Penarol last won the league in 2021. However, they are not the most successful Uruguayan team of all time.

The title of the most successful Uruguayan team of all time belongs to Nacional. Having collected a total of 117 trophies, Nacional is considered the most successful club in South American football.
Nacional has two fewer league titles than Penarol. However, the club nicknamed Bolso has won quite a lot of domestic and international trophies.
Since 2000, Nacional has won 13 league titles. It certainly won’t be long before they catch Penarol’s record of winning 51 Primera Division titles.

This club from Egypt was founded in 1907. Since then, Al Ahly can be called the best club in Egypt.
Al Ahly have dominated the domestic scene since their founding. The club nicknamed Nadi El Watanniyah has won the Egyptian Premier League 43 times.
