Juventus Still Perfect, Thiago Motta Reveals Key to Victory Against Hellas Verona

Thiago Motta outlined the importance of Juventus taking risks to open up Hellas Verona’s defense in their victory. And the coach did not miss out on praising the performance of his players.

Juventus continued their positive trend after crushing Hellas Verona in the second week of Serie A 2024/25. Playing at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, Tuesday (27/8/2024), they won 3-0.

The Bianconeri’s winning goals were scored by Dusan Vlahovic who in this match recorded a brace in the 28th minute and a penalty execution in the 53rd minute. Meanwhile, another goal was scored by Nicolo Savona.

With this result, Juventus became the only team to achieve two consecutive wins and lead the standings with six points.

After the match, Motta admired the attitude of his players who never gave up in breaking down Verona’s tough defense in this match.

“You can see the attitude of the team in the way they press the opponent. They take risks, but if you win the ball back, it’s a big advantage,” said Motta.

“This phase of the game is important, we need all the players. Today our attackers worked hard and did well, having this balance is very important because it allows us to play games like tonight.”

Vlahovic’s two goals against Verona were also appreciated by Motta. According to him, the achievement was much needed by the player and will make Vlahovic more confident.

“Congratulations to Dusan, but also to all the other players who have put good pressure so that we were able to score goals,” continued Motta.

“He is a positive leader in the group.

“He plays for the team, makes a lot of movements and above all, he is a player who knows how to score goals. I am satisfied with him, he must continue like this.”

Juventus will face their first big test of the season on September 2, when they host Paulo Dybala’s AS Roma at the Allianz Stadium, Turin.

“I see a great game to be part of, we are at home and we will try to do our best,” Motta said.

“Together with our fans, we are confident in our ability to get the result we want.”
