The Last 5 Clubs to Win the Champions League, Anyone Still Remember?

The Champions League is the most prestigious football club competition in Europe. There are many famous clubs that have successfully won the competition.

The Champions League was first held in the 1955/1956 season with Real Madrid as the champion. Since then, the Champions League has continued to change its format over the years.

Starting in the 2024/2025 season, the Champions League has also implemented a new format. The group phase which is usually held before the knockout phase is replaced by the League Phase or league phase.

Simply put, this League Phase makes 36 teams in one major league standings. Each team gets eight matches each, namely four home games and four away games.

Real Madrid entered the Champions League this season as the defending champion. Apart from Los Blancos, who else has managed to lift the Big Ears trophy in recent years?

  1. Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich is a club that has quite good achievements in the Champions League. They emerged as champions in the 2019/2020 season.

Real Madrid became the last club to lift the Champions League trophy. Los Blancos became champions again in the 2023/2024 season.

Still coached by Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid crushed Borussia Dortmund’s resistance in the final. Los Blancis won 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.

With this success, Real Madrid won the 15th Champions League trophy, aka La Decimoquinta. Now Los Blancos have a tough task to defend their title.
