Mourinho unhappy after United’s defeat with Fenerbahce

Jose Mourinho was sincerely not happy after his team suffered another setback with a 2-1 Europa League defeat at Fenerbahce on Thursday. Jose accused his side of playing with the intensity of a summer friendly way and this cost them this game. United have already played four Premier League games without a victory and now face a battle to reach the knockout stages of Europe’s second-tier competition after stunning goals by Moussa Sow and Jeremain Lens inflicted a second defeat in four Group A games.

Mourinho is really worried about the team’s performance and the continuing poor form but he was seething after his team began the game in Turkey like a pre-season warm-up.

Mourinho told BT Sport: “Our problems started in our global attitude. They were playing the Champions League final, we were playing a summer friendly,” “We started the game sleeping.”

Mourinho said: “They started at 100mph and we started really slowly,”  “The referee gives a free kick, they take it in a fast way, we don’t react, we lose the second ball and then we don’t mark Sow in the box.

“They are than where they want to be, they are in front, they can control the game, they can defend with a lot of bodies, wait for counter-attacks, simulate a few fouls, put some pressure on the referee, stop the game, win time and provoke some conflicts.

“But it’s not their fault, it’s our fault they went 1-0 in front. When we went 2-0 down we had a reaction … but overall we didn’t deserve anything. Fenerbahce played a good game, an emotional game, and they deserved it.”

Even Scholes was not impressed after the defeat to Fenerbahce and claimed that Mourinho’s men were bullied before taking aim at Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo. Scholes even warned Manchester United that they could struggle for another two years until Jose Mourinho gets the team he wants.  In the entire match, United struggled to create opportunities and left boss Mourinho furious at the final whistle.

Paul Scholes told to BT Sport that: “We have had a painful three years. The next 18 months to two years could be very similar until this manager gets the team he wants.” “This team in two years will be unrecognizable from what it is now. Whatever we do in these two years has to be a bonus. “It has shown in the last three years that they can’t win this league with these players.”
