Michael Schumacher has shown encouraging signs

The world of F1 racing is missing the presence of Michael Schumacher and his fans are certainly missing him much, anxiously waiting for him to make a return. In a recent statement former Ferrari technical head Ross Brawn said on Thursday, Michael Schumacher has shown some “encouraging signs” in his recovery from serious head injuries suffered in a skiing accident in 2013.  The seven-times world champion has been treated at home in Switzerland since he was released from the hospital and few details have been made public about his healthy and recovery since then. Still the 47- year old champion’s condition remains unknown.

The Briton who helped German Schumacher to all his titles and worked with him at Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes told the BBC “The family has chosen to conduct Michael’s convalescence in private and I must respect that.”

He further added, “There are encouraging signs and we are all praying every day that we see more of them,” “So it is difficult for me to say very much and respect the family’s privacy.

“All I would say is there is a lot of speculation about Michael’s condition. Most of it is wrong and we just pray and hope every day that we continue to see some progress and that one day we can see Michael out and about and recovered from his terrible injuries.”

In September this year a German court was told that Schumacher, who fell and hit his head on a rock in the ski accident in the French Alps, remained unable to walk.

Michael Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm also said in December 2015 that media speculation about Michael’s condition was “irresponsible, because, given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. “Unfortunately they (reports) also give false hopes to many involved people.”

The sportsman’s family are suing the magazine for €40,000 to €100,000 (£34,000-£85,000) for invading his privacy and a verdict is expected this month. With such a long medical treatment it also looks like that Schumacher’s family are feeling the financial strains.

Even the star’s loved ones are facing problems trying to raise the funds to support the medications and therapies of the German racer. In an effort to raise funds for Schumacher a Mercedes E55 AMG car, previously owned by Schumacher, was reportedly up for sale with a tag price of £516524. As per the reports, Michael Schumacher’s medical bills are said to have hit £115k-a-week at one point and totaled £12million.
