Buriram United Esports from Thailand has been declared the champion of the Free Fire World Series Southeast Asia (FFWS SEA) 2024 Fall which took place at the Surabaya Convention Center, Pakuwon Trade Center, on Sunday, October 13, 2024. The team managed to earn a total of 100 points, including one Booyah, 34 placement points, and 49 elimination points, beating defending champion Team Falcons who finished second with 89 points.
This victory is Buriram United Esports’ first achievement in the Free Fire esports scene in Southeast Asia, after previously finishing in third place at the FFWS SEA 2024 Spring in Vietnam in May 2024. As the winner, Buriram United Esports took home a prize of US$100,000, the largest portion of the total prize pool of US$300,000. Buriram United Esports coach, Aekkachai Kaewkong (Namo), stated, “Our victory is the result of the hard work of all the players who have tried to improve themselves. We are very happy to be champions in Surabaya, a beautiful and fun city. Thank you to all the Free Fire esports supporters and fans who have come to watch us.”
Indonesian teams also showed good performance even though they did not manage to achieve the highest position. RRQ Kazu closed the tournament in sixth place with a total of 70 points, followed by EVOS Divine in seventh place with 69 points, and Bigetron Delta in eighth place with 65 points. Despite being in 6th-8th positions, the three teams managed to qualify for the FFWS Global Finals 2024 which will be held in Brazil in November 2024.

A total of eight of the nine teams in the top standings secured tickets to the FFWS Global Finals 2024, with Team Falcons qualifying with the distinction of being world champions at the Esports World Cup: Free Fire held in Riyadh. The FFWS SEA 2024 Fall Grand Finals in Surabaya was attended by more than 4,000 Free Fire fans from all over Indonesia. In addition to the exciting matches, the event was also enlivened by performances by musician Isyana Sarasvati and idol group JKT 48, adding to the excitement for esports fans. With this victory, Buriram United Esports has proven itself as a new force in the Southeast Asian Free Fire esports scene and is ready to compete at a global level.
