Faker and T1 Win League of Legends Worlds Titles for the Fifth Time

T1 has won the League of Legends World Championship 2024 title after defeating LCK champion Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in the finals held at the O2 Arena, London.

This victory at Worlds 2024 adds the 5th world championship trophy for T1 and its star player, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, further solidifying their position as the greatest team and player in League of Legends history.

The finals were tight, with Bilibili Gaming taking the first map before T1 fought back on the second. Bilibili took another win on the third map, putting them on the brink of victory. However, T1 did not give up and managed to take the fourth map despite being behind, forcing a fifth map to be decided.

The fifth map was a very intense match. Entering the mid-game, Faker created a magical moment with Galio’s ultimate skill, which turned the tide in a team fight. All the advantages that Bilibili Gaming had held were instantly gone. Faker and his team managed to slowly erode Bilibili Gaming’s assets until finally destroying their Nexus and being crowned champions once again.

Not only that, another surprise was that Faker was named the final MVP at Worlds 2024. This victory adds to the collection of 5 world championship titles for T1 and Faker—an incredible achievement!

The victory at Worlds 2024 gave T1 a prize of $445,000 USD and the world championship title. Bilibili Gaming received $356,000 USD while Weibo Gaming and Gen.G Esports, who came in third and fourth, each received $178,000 USD.
