Tottenham Gives Ange Postecoglou This Decision After Losing Two Times in a Row

Tottenham have no plans to sack manager Ange Postecoglou amid a crucial run of games, despite the club’s worrying form.

The 4-3 defeat to Chelsea left Tottenham 11th in the Premier League and with just one win in their last seven games in all competitions.

Postecoglou had boldly stated at the start of the season that he would win trophies with the club this season, but the defeat to Chelsea was a tough one for his side.

Questions have been raised about the Australian’s commitment to his attacking style, especially as Tottenham continue to suffer a number of injuries up front.

However, according to The Telegraph, Postecoglou still has the backing of the club’s hierarchy ahead of crucial games.

The report adds that the club’s hierarchy understand the injury crisis has affected Postecoglou’s efforts.

January could be a good time to add reinforcements, with Postecoglou reportedly meeting with technical director Johan Lange to discuss the club’s plans.

A must-win Europa League clash with Rangers and a Premier League clash with Southampton are Tottenham’s next fixtures before a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United.

Postecoglou’s side then host leaders Liverpool before travelling to Nottingham Forest, managed by former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Postecoglou’s future has been under review and former Premier League boss Alan Pardew has suggested there is an ideal man to replace him.

His choice for a new boss is likely to come from the Championship, with Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick, 43, said to be the perfect fit for Tottenham.

“Look, I would personally go for someone who is not tarnished,” said Pardew.

“Sometimes you have to look at young managers and give them a chance. Michael Carrick did a great job at Middlesbrough. If I was a Premiership club, I would have him on the shortlist.”
