Bowling is a kind of sports that can be practised by people of all ages and that requires low levels of physical conditioning.

Here are five common mistakes to avoid when bowling:

1. Not Having the Right Attitude

Well, having good mental attitude is fundamental to leading a successful future. Visualisation can be used effectively in order to build confidence and capability in you to do well.

2. Don’t Warm Up

Bowling is a sport this is for real and like any other sporting activity it is advisable that one warms up before the game begins.

Fingers, wrists, shoulders, neck, ankles: there is always a warning that if your warm up is not effective, particularly the warming of joints, an injury will be inevitable.

3. Improper Grip

Bowling at is easier analysed when considering the right grip of the bowling ball so as to help in control the direction and accuracy during the game.

One common mistake that most bowlers have is excessive clutching of the ball in their hand causing a bad release and hence poor shots.

Possible defects include pulling the strings over the right hand and gripping tightly; the latter should be achieved loosely, with fingertips only lightly inserted into each of the finger holes.

4. Incorrect Foot Positioning

Your stance or the position of your feet at the time of approach and release of the ball plays a major role in christening of the ball.

The biggest error people make is that they stand too wide apart, or else too close together; either of these postures is likely to affect your equilibrium and cause wild shots.

5. Improper Ball Weight

Two of the mistakes that most people make when selecting a bowling ball are going for a ball that is either too heavy or too light for the individual’s strength and capability.

A ball that is heavy to handle is a problem especially when trying to hit the pins while on the other extreme a light ball lacks both weight to knock the pins down.

Bowling should ideally be done frequently, and you should never be shy of consulting with other bowlers or even a professional trainer if you so wish, also remember that it takes quite some time developing your style in bowling.
