The Los Angeles Lakers are once again projected to miss out on the NBA title.
The Lakers sit on the sixth spot in the western conference and are yet to be considered amongst the fancied teams such as Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics or the Denver Nuggets.
Therefore, at the end of the day, Carmelo Anthony pointed to the LA Lakers a star. Introducing players and their coaches, Anthony suggested the name Jimmy Butler.
Following the report that the star wanted to be traded from the Miami Heat, rumours have placed him with various teams, particularly the Houston Rockets, and the Phoenix Suns.
While the Lakers are not a landing spot for the star, Anthony thinks that he can have his own Big 3 with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
“I would send Jimmy to the Lakers. It’s the best place for him. They’re an experienced team with veterans,” Anthony said.
“LeBron knows how to adapt to him, he knows what he’s going to bring to the team. The Lakers need defense and he can provide that, bring toughness and get the game.
“LeBron doesn’t want to do everything all the time. Davis is doing what he does. So put Jimmy in there with them,” he added.
Butler is up for trade in the NBA. Last week, he formally indicated his desire to be traded from the Heat.
There are several teams that are thought to be showing interest in moving forward in a speculated trade for the Miami forward.
The Lakers on the other hand have no direct association with the player. However, it maybe if it is going to be intriguing to see LeBron with him.
The problem raises here is to look for a proper offer that should be made for the star. The Lakers are the sixth-highest paid team in the NBA and would have to offer a great deal for the No. 22.
The pundits believe several players with shorter contracts would have to be involved but LeBron and Davis were not signed.
