Indonesia to host 2025 PMSL SEA Summer in Jakarta!

Jakarta officially hosts the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Super League – Southeast Asia (PMSL SEA) Summer. This decision is expected to further strengthen the Indonesian esports ecosystem and prove Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage.

After successfully holding the Spring edition in Malaysia, many fans have been wondering about which country will host the Summer edition. The answer was finally revealed on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at PUBG MOBILE’s 7th anniversary celebration held at Taman Anggrek Mall, Jakarta.

This decision received a positive response from various parties, including the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy of Indonesia, Irene Umar. She expressed optimism about the development of esports in Indonesia and gave full support for the implementation of PMSL SEA Summer in Jakarta.

“From Ekraf, we want Indonesia to become an esports center in Asia. Many see Indonesia as a country with 281 million people and a large market, but more than that, we have many top players who are able to compete at the world level. When Indonesia hosts the world championship, my hope is that we can win first place and prove our capacity as a strong esports country,” said Irene Umar.

He also added that the government is ready to collaborate with various parties to strengthen the national gaming and esports industry. “Happy birthday PUBG MOBILE, let’s collaborate to advance the Indonesian gaming industry. We become kings in our own country, and reign supreme throughout the world!” he said.

In addition, PB ESI (Indonesian Esports Executive Board) also expressed its appreciation for the selection of Jakarta as the host of PMSL SEA Summer 2025. Richard Permana, as Deputy Chairperson of PB ESI’s Development and Achievement Division, appreciated PUBG MOBILE’s contribution to the development of esports in Indonesia.

With the announcement of Jakarta as the host of PMSL SEA Summer 2025, it is hoped that this event can be a momentum for the growth of the national esports ecosystem and prove Indonesia’s capacity as a major player in the global esports industry.

The presence of this tournament will not only strengthen the local esports ecosystem but also provide an opportunity for Indonesian players and teams to show their abilities in front of domestic and international fans.
