Very exciting news from Formula 1 is up here! Formula 1 racing is looking towards getting new, powerful and louder engines. This is going to be very exciting for the upcoming F1 racers. This year 2014, F1 has used cutting edge V6 turbo hybrid engines but these engines are very expensive and they have a very quiet noise. Bosses of Formula 1 have decided to look for proposals which will meet the new requirements of engine demand. The first meeting for F1 new engines will be organized on 6th January. On contrary, Renault and Ferrari are much near to winning title. So, they will be in next season’s engine development championship.
How the restrictions for modification in the engines for the upcoming year would work? These restrictions have been depicted by BBC sports news as, “Any modifications would still have to comply with the restrictions that already govern engine development. Aimed at keeping costs down, these follow a formula that defines 92% of the engine as being open to development from the first season of the design to the second. From this, manufacturers choose a maximum of 48% they can develop. This 48% is split into 32 “tokens”, assigned to parts of the engine depending on their influence on performance. Manufacturers would be able to implement their 32 development tokens throughout the year, rather than having to use all before the season starts.”
FIA known as the governing body of Formula 1 has proposed that if any changes in the engine will be made, F1 is responsible to get them approved by 28th February. The issue of rule making has been previously discussed on Thursday. Now, it is up on news that there are large numbers of chances that manufacturers will be upgrading the engines before the start of next season.
The arguments made by Ferrari and Renault have been accepted and both will be introducing the upcoming year’s major developments. However, the engine of Mercedes – turbo hybrid engine was very prominent in 2014, so it will be same for 2015 too.
According to the rules, it has been stated that if there comes more than 20 racers in the upcoming season then Formula F1 will be allowed to get its access over 5 engines. Now let’s see what Formula F1 will bring for the upcoming racing season. I am much excited for the new engines. Fingers crossed!
