Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly accepted a £52.9 million offer for Colombian international James Rodriguez.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Los Blancos have accepted the massive bid from Serie A side AC Milan for their star player, but there is a slight twist to the tale.
It is believed the Colombian playmaker has rejected the opportunity to talk to Milan because he prefers a move to Manchester United.
The 25-year-old is expected to leave in this transfer window as he has failed to secure a regular starting spot under Real boss Zinedine Zidane.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are also said to be interested in Rodriguez, but know they are unlikely to get him if United come calling.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez claimed on Tuesday that, although there have been numerous reports of players who could be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, including Cristiano Ronaldo, there has been no bids.
“We haven’t received offers for anyone this summer,” Perez told Onda Cero.
“Not Cristiano (Ronaldo), not (Alvaro) Morata – not James.”
Rodriguez made 33 appearances for Real last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 13 further strikes.
Do you think the Red Devils will try to sign the Colombia star? Have your say on it.
This might be one of those long transfer saga that already been happening before.
James was originally like to stay at Real as it was one of his dream to join Los Blancos, however not being the first choice player under few Manager at Real. The thought of leaving the club and get some serious minutes on the pitch is what must be consider.
Considering his age, he is already at his prime, and if that will be anytime for him to shine and fulfill his full potential, it will be now.
So the Colombian star should really re-thinking his plan and go to a club that will guarantee him a first line up position. It was doubted that he will fully utilized at United as well, but who knows what is on Mourinho’s plan.
