At Barcelona Open, Rafael Nadal has been defeated by Fabio Fognini. According to Rafael Nadal, he played really poor at the time when he was all up for playing sets against Fabio. The result of this match between Rafael Nadal and Fabio Fognini was the worst since his 2003’s result at Barcelona Open when he was 16 years old. This defeat of Rafael Nadal is the second defeat against Fabio. The first defeat was at Sao – Paulo semi – final at the initial start of this year. Fabio, seeded 13th, won the match at the end of third round by 6 – 4 7 – 6 (8 – 6).
Expressing his grief over the defeat by Fabio, Rafael Nadal said, “I played poorly, I didn’t play like I should have. This is a blow for me, but I accept the challenge and the negative day I had. There is no other way forward other than to accept it or die. I will keep working. I am convinced that this situation of ups and downs I have had since returning from injuries, sooner or later, will come to an end.” After this match at Barcelona Open, Rafael Nadal accepted that he really played bad but he then took this bad game as a challenge for winning the upcoming matches. Rafael Nadal’s physical condition is one of the reasons of this defeat against Fabio. We are much sure that now Rafael Nadal will learn from his ups and downs. Surely, we will see Rafael Nadal again up on the stage of victory.

Fognini leveled again at 5-5 because of a shouting forehand victor off a Nadal crush, and afterward manufactured into a 6-3 lead in the tie-break. Nadal fought back to level at 6-6 however couldn’t contain the mistakes when Fognini earned a fourth risk, and the Italian secured a great win.
