Former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (25-2-0) has claimed he has signed his contract to fight middleweight champion Michael Bisping in UFC 217.
A November date had initially been proposed for the bout, which would be in an Octagon at Madison Square Garden, New York.
The Canadian fighter has made no secret of his dream to face Bisping (31-7-0) and has now agreed of his full of the deal after UFC president Dana White canceled the fight due to GSP’s eye injury couple months ago.
“Finally signing my UFC 217 Bout Agreement vs Michael Bisping for Nov.4th at MSG, get ready for a big ninght in NYC!!!” GSP wrote in his social media account.
In announcing his temporary retirement following his victory against Johny Hendricks, GSP had defended nine consecutively his championship waistcoat. His last loss was April 7, 2007 against Matt Serra.
GSP was supposed to fight against the welterweight champion when he returned to the Octagon. However, Tyron Woodley offered such a disappointing performance that Dana White reversed his decision.
He chose instead to set up a fight between GSP and Michael Bisping. It promises to be a good battle. Bisping has no doubt and is currently in his best moments at UFC.
The British fighter won the 185-pound via a first round knockout against Luke Rockhold at UFC in June 2016.
“To be honest, Dana said last week that the Bisping-GSP ship had sailed. He said the winner of Woodley vs Maia gets GSP and I was like oh right, whatever, it would have been nice and a bigger payday and all that stuff, but I was just mentally drained with it all. ” Bisping said.

“I stopped campaigning because every time Dana would just shut it down. So I drive home later on and Dana White calls.
“This is the third time I have been offered this fight and it has fallen into the water twice. Englishman will fight Georges St-Pierre at Madison Square Garden on November 4. It’s official. Don’t miss it,” he added.
The fight between GSP and Bisping is expected to attract a lot of UFC fans not only in America but also around the world.
