Fonseca made a massive substitution in the second half, including bringing on young goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani. Despite that, Milan continued to dominate. The fifth goal came from Davide Calabria’s rebound after Christian Pulisic’s shot hit the post.
Sassuolo had a consolation goal through Samuele Mulattieri, who converted an assist from Janis Antiste, although Milan’s defense showed a little hesitation in the moment. However, Milan regained the lead through Tammy Abraham who converted a perfect pass from Noah Okafor to score the sixth.
