At the recent Predator League Finals 2024, Acer executives showcased their commitment to the esports scene in Indonesia.
Recognising the country’s vast potential and diverse talent pool, Acer Indonesia is taking concrete steps to cultivate future esports champions and advance the industry as a whole.
Spearheading this initiative is the Game Working Space, a state-of-the-art technology facility located in Solo Technopark. This center, envisioned as a hub for nurturing both computing and digital expertise, will specifically target aspiring esports athletes.
Led by Leny Ng, COO of Acer Indonesia, the project highlights Acer’s focus on collaboration, partnering with the government and universities through the ICE Institute for local game development programs.
Acer’s contribution extends beyond providing high-performance Nitro and Predator gaming devices. The company actively organises national and local esports tournaments like the Predator League, offering opportunities for gamers to hone their skills and connect with the broader gaming community.
Recognising the wider ecosystem, Acer Indonesia also fosters partnerships with local communities, engaging not just gamers but also content creators, cosplayers, students, and STEM professionals.
“The presence of Game Working Space in Solo Technopark is a momentum to support players and fans of the game industry in Indonesia.” Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said.
“The opening of the Game Working Space will bring great opportunities for game talents in Solo to be able to join and become a part of advancing the national game industry,” Gibran added.
Gibran also appreciated the commitment shown by Acer Indonesia, the ICE Institute, and Kedaireka in an effort to improve the quality of local games and make Solo Technopark the leading center of the first game technology in Indonesia.
By establishing the Game Working Space and actively engaging with the local esports scene, Acer Indonesia demonstrates its commitment to developing the country’s esports talent and infrastructure.
This initiative aligns with the government’s plan to support the gaming ecosystem from the ground up, ensuring Indonesia’s competitive edge in the global esports arena.
