One Afghan footballer told a sad story and great hope after the Taliban came to power in the country.

Quoted from Marca, one of Afghanistan’s leading footballers who lives in Kabul told about the conditions in the country, including the impact of the power that the Taliban now has.
“I think we are heading in the right direction, towards peace. Currently in my city everything is fine under the control of the Taliban, which does not hinder normal life for now,” said the unnamed footballer recalling the situation in Afghanistan.
Although life is still normal, the player has concerns about the development of sports, especially football in Afghanistan.
“I hope the ruling Taliban don’t get involved with the Afghan Football Federation (AFF), because that would mean FIFA sanctions and we don’t want that,” he said.
FIFA really does not want other parties to interfere in football affairs, including the government. When the government intervenes, FIFA can impose penalties on the country’s football federation, which will affect the lives of the country’s footballers.
Approaching the end of the interview with Marca, the footballer also expressed great expectations from the current conditions in Afghanistan. He really wanted a life abroad that was considered peaceful and quiet.
“Here, under these simple conditions no one can guarantee us. I’m not asking for a limousine, I’m just asking, ‘What can you do for us?’,” said the Afghan player.
15 days ago the footballer’s wife gave birth to a beautiful daughter. He just wanted his daughter’s future to go well and normal.
“I want her not to have to see situations like this when she grew up in this country,” he said.
“I lost US$20,000 during this war, and I am looking for US$5,000 to be able to travel with my family to Iran,” he added.
Although life in Kabul City is considered normal, it is not for the feelings of its residents. The footballer said he continued to be overshadowed by fear.
“Last week, no one dared to take to the streets, but now people are living more or less normal lives. What worries me the most is the future of my baby girl,” he said.
