Again Hit by This Problem, Barcelona Threatened with Not Being Able to Register Dani Olmo

Barcelona are once again facing problems registering players. Most recently, their new recruit, Dani Olmo, has reportedly not been able to register due to the club’s financial problems.

Olmo officially became a new Barcelona player last Friday after sporting director Deco traveled to Germany to reach an agreement with RB Leipzig.

The two clubs agreed a transfer fee of £51 million, with a six-year contract and a release clause reported to be £427 million.

However, as reported by Cadena SER, Barcelona are still unable to register the Spaniard, just five days before his potential La Liga debut against Valencia.

The report comes after the Catalan side announced a new partnership with the club’s hospitality provider, Aramark, a deal that is reported to generate around £34 million.

However, it seems they need to raise additional funds, and a new deal with Nike could help facilitate player registrations.

The same source also said that the Blaugrana are currently unable to register several of their existing players.

This could include players who have returned from loan spells, such as Ansu Fati, Clement Lenglet or Eric Garcia.

Dani Olmo could be set to watch Saturday’s game from the sidelines if the club are unable to register the player in time.

It’s not the first time this has happened in 2022, with French defender Jules Kounde missing several La Liga games for the same reason.

Similar to Kounde’s situation, the club must find a way to solve their current financial problems.

Barcelona hosted AS Monaco in a pre-season duel titled the Joan Gamper Trophy. Unfortunately, Barcelona lost 0-3 to the visiting team in this match.

Well, after the match, Barcelona used the opportunity to talk to the fans. The captain, Marc Andre ter Stegen spoke up. The coach, Hansi Flick also spoke.

At the same time, Barcelona also presented Dani Olmo to the fans directly. Olmo also had the opportunity to talk to Barcelona fans who were present directly at the stadium.

Dani Olmo is no stranger to Barcelona. In fact, Olmo is a genuine product of Barcelona’s popular academy, La Masia.

However, Olmo was forced to leave the team in 2014, at the age of 16. He left to get more playing opportunities. Now, 10 years have passed, Olmo is back in Barcelona, joining the senior team.

“Good afternoon Cules, I’m very happy to be back home, it’s a dream come true. I really wanted to wear this shirt and this club’s badge,” Olmo said.

“I came to win. We have a great team, great fans. We are a great club and we will do everything this season. Visca el Barca.”
