Aguero Hattrick, Man City Wins 6-1 over Huddersfield

Manchester City won 6-1 over Huddersfield Town in the second match in the English Premier League 2018/2019 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (8/19). Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he was happy his team could score six goals against Huddersfield Town, a team that was difficult to break last season by Sergio Aguero et al.

These results are very different from Manchester City’s last season. In the same place, Huddersfield Town could hold the home draw with a score of 0-0.

“I am happy with the achievement of three points and the way the team plays,” Pep Guardiola said as quoted from the Sky Sports website.

“We started the match better than last season and performed great for 90 minutes,” said Pep. Pep Guardiola also mentioned that the presence of Benjamin Mendy became a differentiator between the two matches.

“Last season Huddersfield put five players behind. Last season we could not attack them as they are now because there is no Benjamin Mendy,” Guardiola said. “Mendy is very smart in attacking and defending and makes us able to attack like this,” he said.

Mendy did look good on the match versus Huddersfield. He created three chances and one of them became an assistant for Sergio Aguero’s third goal.

David Silva became the motor of Manchester City’s attack at the start of the first half. Until finally the ball was at the foot of Sergio Aguero. Unfortunately, Aguero’s shot can be blocked.

In the early minutes the game is fully held by the host with 81 percent of possession. Various efforts were launched by Pep Guardiola’s team, including pressure from Gabriel Jesus. It’s just that, Gabriel’s volley can still be saved by Huddersfield goalkeeper.

Man City’s endless of attacks paid off in the 25th minute through Aguero. Starting from the goal kick of goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, the ball can be controlled by Aguero. Aguero scored by scooping the ball after goalkeeper Ben Hamer left the net. Six minutes later Gabriel Jesus’s turn added to the Citizens’ advantage in the 31st minute using a Benjamin Mendy pass.

Having qualified quality makes Man City excel at all over Huddersfield. No wonder Man City are getting away with goals scored by Aguero.

Before halftime, the visitors Huddersfield reduced the position to 1-3 with a goal scored by Jon Gorenc-Stankovic. Gorenc-Stankovic’s goal took advantage of Steve Mounie’s pass. The first half ended with a score of 3-1 for Man City.

In the second half Man City did not want to throw away the opportunity to increase the number of goals. In the 48th minute Vincent Kompany and his friends broke into Huddersfield’s goal again, this time through David Silva from a free kick.

Winning 4-1 makes Man City more passionate in playing. Aguero also scored a hat trick in the match after breaking into Huddersfield’s goal in the 76th minute.

Man City’s ultimate goal was finally born from Terence Kongolo’s own goal in the 85th minute. This 6-1 score is Man City’s second victory in the first two games of the 2018/2019 Premier League.
