Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp admits that he is not afraid at all that his team will face Real Madrid in the first leg of the last 16 of the 2022-2023 Champions League. Klopp prefers to feel excited because according to him, the Reds’ chance to win and qualify for the next round is still big.
The Liverpool vs Madrid match will take place at Anfield, Liverpool, on Wednesday 22 February 2023. Appearing in front of their own supporters, Liverpool certainly hope to take advantage of this to win.
Klopp said that Liverpool have worked hard to be able to compete in the Champions League this season. Therefore, he wants his team to appreciate every moment they have to face, including against Real Madrid.
“You always work very hard to qualify for the Champions League, so I think you have to appreciate this moment to face Real Madrid,” said Jurgen Klopp as quoted from Liverpool’s official website, Tuesday (21/2/2023).
Of course Liverpool really want to lift the Champions League trophy again this season. Because of that, Klopp feels that the match against Real Madrid will feel very special considering his status as the defending champion.
“We all dream of it (winning the Champions League again), we all do it and it will never change that it will be a special game,” Klopp continued.
