Manchester City vs Real Madrid in the second leg of the semifinals of the 2022-2023 Champions League, Thursday 18 May 2023. Ahead of the match, Carlo Ancelotti admitted that he had not prepared any special tactics to serve the hosts.
The tactician from Italy only wants his team to play optimally in order to secure victory. He also hopes that the players can appear primed in order to realise this target.
“My plans are the same as always, to try to get the best out of our team both individually and collectively,” Ancelotti said as quoted from Real Madrid’s official website, Wednesday (17/5/2024).
Furthermore, Ancelotti realised that the match against Manchester City was not an easy thing. Moreover, El Real must travel to the Etihad Stadium, which incidentally is home to Manchester City.
“It will be a game that will demand a lot from us and we can do better than we did in the first leg. That’s what we will try to do tomorrow,” he continued.
“Courage and personality are very important factors in this type of game. I want to see my team read the game well,” he continued.
However, Ancelotti really has a great desire to bring Real Madrid to the final. The former AC Milan coach emphasised that his team is ready to fight against Manchester City.
“This is my fourth year at this club. I enjoy my time and I enjoy every day. It is my legacy to coach this team and these players and try to get the best out of the squad.”
“We are very close to doing something significant and we are ready for it. We know this is very difficult, but challenges push us to do our best,” he explained. As additional information, last week the two teams met in the first leg of the 2022 Champions League semi finals -2023. Despite playing at home, Real Madrid failed to gain a win after being held 1-1 by Manchester City.
