Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks should be wary of AI Peppers who just made history after beating Hi Pass 3-0 in the Korean Volleyball League, Tuesday (22/10).
AI Peppers started the 2024/2025 season well after beating hosts Hi Pass 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-14) at Gimcheon Gymnasium.
This victory became history for AI Peppers because it was the first win in the opening match of the Korean Volleyball League since the club was founded in 2021.
“Won the first opening match since the founding of AI Peppers,” wrote KOVO.
AI Peppers has the opportunity to overtake Red Sparks and take over the top of the Korean Volleyball League standings.
The evenness of AI Peppers’ strength can be seen from the number of points scored by several players, which does not have a significant difference.
AI Peppers will host Red Sparks in the second match of the first round of the 2024/2025 Korean Volleyball League at Yeomju Gymnasium, Friday (25/10).
The positive results for Hi Pass show that AI Peppers changed drastically after the KOVO Cup 2024 tournament. In KOVO Cup 2024, AI Peppers became targets for GS Caltex, Hyundai Hillstate, and Hi Pass.
The team coached by Chang So Yeon was unable to score points in three matches in Group A. AI Peppers lost 2-3 to Hillstate, was beaten by Hi Pass 1-3, and lost 0-3 to GS Caltex.
The compactness of AI Peppers could be a point that cannot be underestimated by Ko Hee Jin’s team in the future. This can be seen from the almost evenly distributed points scored by AI Peppers players against Hi Pass.
No standout players scored points. Opposite foreign hitter Barbara Dapic scored 14 points, outside hitter Park Jeong Ah also scored 14 points. Lee Han Bi and middle blocker Yu Zhang also combined to score 12 points.
