Red Sparks lost 0-3 against AI Peppers in the Korean Volleyball League, Wednesday (2/19). One of the keys to AI Peppers success was their well-functioning block system.
AI Peppers defeated Red Sparks in three straight sets with a score of 25-21, 25-23, 25-13. After a tough fight in the first two sets, AI Peppers were truly dominant in the third set.
The main key to AI Peppers success in defeating Red Sparks was their smoothly functioning block system. AI Peppers recorded a total of 18 successful blocks in the match. This record clearly illustrates how solid AI Peppers defense was in the match.
Park Jeong Ah recorded the most blocks with seven blocks. Meanwhile, in the next place was Yu Zhang with five blocks followed by Lim Ju Eun with three blocks.
The blocks demonstrated by Park Jeong Ah then made the Red Sparks attacks that relied on Megawati and Bukilic often raw. Park Jeong Ah and her friends were able to read the Red Sparks attack flow well and thwarted it.
As an illustration, Bukilic and Megawati were ultimately unable to score more than 15 points in that match. The Red Sparks’ mainstay duo was truly suppressed. Bukilic only scored 14 points while Megawati scored 12 points.
Megawati only recorded 12 points in the Red Sparks vs AI Peppers match. This record is Megawati’s lowest point record this season.
Megawati was unable to lift the Red Sparks game in the match against AI Peppers. Both Megawati and Vanja Bukilic were repeatedly blocked by AI Peppers defense.
The defeat to AI Peppers left Red Sparks stuck in third place. Red Sparks scored 55 points, two points behind Hillstate.
Meanwhile, the first position in the Korean Volleyball League is still occupied by Pink Spiders. Pink Spiders has advanced far with a collection of 70 points currently.
