Aleix Espargaro Announces Retirement from MotoGP at the End of 2024 Season

Aleix Espargaro has revealed during a special press conference at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya that he will not be renewing his expiring Aprilia contract.

Instead, he said that he will be ending his active racing career in MotoGP at the end of the current season.

“As you can imagine, I will retire as a full-time rider in MotoGP at the end of the season. It was a wonderful trip that I enjoyed very much.” Espargaro said.

Espargaro’s decision comes after much contemplation, as he openly admitted to having doubts for some time about whether he wanted to continue as a full-time MotoGP rider beyond this season.
