Motogp rider Aleix Espargaro is reportedly to be the newly ambassador of American cycling team Lidl-Trek.
This new partnership could be described as the merger of two ends of the spectre, which will bring high added value to the Lidl-Trek team.
“I’m thrilled to join the Lidl-Trek family, which is home to some of the world’s best cyclists,” Espargaro said.
“I’m excited to learn from some of the best cyclists and staff in the sport, push my limits, and share this special journey with fans.” Espargaro added.
Espargaro made 11 starts in the MotoGP 2024 season, and in total he has raced for Aprilia for seven years.
He claimed three GPs during the season and made 255 starts in total in his 15-year career.
Thanks to his years of competition and professional career in the highest level circuits Espargaro has become recognised as not only an excellent rider but also as a major cycling advocate.
It will be seen that his interest in keeping fit and exercising regularly would fit in well with the Lidl-Trek professional cycling team.
“I’m deeply grateful to Lidl-Trek for welcoming me to their family and supporting me. I’ll give it everything I have.” Espargaro said.
Lidl Trek is a professional cycling team in the United States that participates in racing at different cycles competition across the world.
The team is recognised as the team with highly competitive attitude and with a significant emphasis on rider’s young development.
Adding Espargaro as an ambassador should contribute to its presence making more fans and sponsor awareness of the team.
“Working with Aleix will be incredibly rewarding for us, and especially for our young riders,” Lidl-Trek general manager Luca Guercilena said.
“We know he is a strong, passionate cyclist, but he also brings different experiences and perspectives to the team.
“He can help our younger athletes understand and handle the pressures that come with top-level competition.” he added.
