Tennis News: Alexander Zverev World number 7 will join the tournament to be held in the Balkan region, Adria Tour, which was initiated by Novak Djokovic next month.
Alexander Zverev will join Adria Tour. In a press conference held in the Serbian capital on Monday (25/05) local time, world number 1 tennis player Djokovic revealed “The phenomenal news I want to share today is Sascha alias Alexander Zverev will come to Belgrade.”
German tennis player Zverev will join the world number 3 Dominic Thiem and world number 19 Grigor Dimitrov in Belgrade on June 13-14, which will be the first stop of the Adria Tour.
“Three of the world’s best tennis players. I am truly grateful for their participation,” Djokovic exclaimed.
Meanwhile, the presence of the audience is still uncertain.
“I hope some rules will change on June 13 and maybe we will get a chance to bring the audience,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic said that is still uncertain, like many other things relating to the current situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Djokovic announced on his 33rd birthday last week will hold from June 13 to July 5 in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia. Then The money collected from the tournament will donate to a number of charities.
“This is about humanity. All revenues, whether from sponsors, contracts, local and international broadcast rights, will be given to humanitarian organizations,” added Djokovic.
Countries in the Balkans have overcome COVID-19 with relative success. Approximately 20,000 people have infected and around 660 deaths have occurred in areas with a population of 22 million.
Novak Djokovic Invites Fabio Fognini to Participate in the Adria Tour.
Fabio Fognini revealed that world number 1 Novak Djokovic had invited him to perform on the Adria Tour which planned to begin next month.
Then The Italian tennis player Fognini decline the invitation because that he feel was not ready to return to compete.
After quarantine in Marbella, with his family Djokovic returned to Serbia and announced that he would hold the Adria Tour. The tournament will hold in four countries in the Balkans, namely Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia.
The World number 3 Dominic Thiem and Grigor Dimitrov will also participate. The tennis tournament had suspended since March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the suspension until early August.
