Alexis Sanchez has decided to leave Inter Milan. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Chilean has agreed to terminate his contract with the Italian club, which expires in June 2023.
“Inter have reached an agreement in principle with Alexis Sanchez to terminate the current contract and part ways with immediate effect, just final detail before it’s signed.” Romano tweeted on his Twitter.
“Sanchez, available as free agent with Olympique Marseille among clubs interested.” Romano added.
The 33-year-old striker has the highest salary at Inter but was out of the plans of coach Simone Inzaghi. As with Vidal, who agreed to join Flamengo, Inter will pay compensation to terminate the contract ahead of schedule.
Marseille offered Sanchez a two-year contract worth 3 million euros per season. The salary is lower than what the he still perceives at Inter, but the intentions are to return to the protagonist in the Champions League.
Free on the market, Sanchez has negotiations with Olympique de Marseille. The French club is pointed out by the European press as the favourite to sign the striker.
However, Sanchez leaves Inter after three disappointing seasons. 20 goals and 23 assists are not poor for a striker who was primarily used as the first change of one of the two strikers, but the Chilean almost never played in the best possible physical condition, due to a series of complicated physical problems.
Inter is working on other sales so that it can take actions in the incoming market. The issue that has the most bank is that linked to Milan Skriniar, who may end up staying given the absence of Gleison Bremer, who has moved to Juventus.
Ausilio and Marotta have confirmed their desire to keep the Slovak, but in the face of an irresistible offer, it may leave. The team most interested in the player is Paris Saint-Germain, but the strong central would cost 70 million euros.
