Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a major job on his hands, not only to turn results around but to create a good atmosphere at the Old Trafford after a fractious two-and-a-half years with the Portuguese Jose Mourinho in charge.
The Red Devils proved on Sunday that their recovery under Solskjaer is no flash in the pan, with Marcus Rashford pouncing to seal a 1-0 win in a thrilling contest against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.
The result leaves Tottenham nine points behind leaders Liverpool and United level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal as they revive their top-four hopes.
Speaking to media after the match, Ander Herrera has praised the tactical game plan that was prepared by United manager caretaker manager Solskjaer and his assistants.
“The manager told us that at the beginning of the game it would be difficult to make short passes. He told is that it would be easier for us to switch the play and to looking, to the other side of the pitch to switch the ball, because that is where we were going to find spaces. We scored like that, so thank you to the game plan as well.” Herrera said.
“It was fantastic, when you have the combination between the talent we have, the effort everyone made and the best goalkeeper in the world, these kinds of things can happen.
“We have to be fair with ourselves and say the draw probably would have been fair. But I think we deserve these kind of things because we are working so hard, we are believing, we are following the plan that the manager and his assistants give us, and we have the number one in the goal.” Herrera added.

United and Spurs went toe-to-toe in an open match but while both teams had multiple chances, United goalkeeper David de Gea proved the difference, making a string of phenomenal saves.
United made it six wins from six under Solskjaer. No other manager in the club history has achieved that record. And Herrera is keen to look at the bigger match.
“We are still sixth, so let’s keep our feet on the floor, let’s try to beat Brighton and be humble. We didn’t start the league very well so we still have a long way to work to reach the top four.” Herrera said.
