Angelique Kerber has revealed about his future in the world of tennis. The tennis player who has won three Grand Slam titles from Germany.
In an interview with German media, the 2016 Australian Open champion revealed that he started thinking about retiring during his hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2016 US Open champion stated that it had come to his mind after he often felt that all his friends at the WTA tournament had said goodbye to the world of tennis.
“I feel like all my friends have retired,” admitted Kerber who has bagged 12 titles.

The 2018 Wimbledon Champion stated that the time he spent outside the world of tennis during the pandemic triggered him to pursue other interests outside of tennis.
Regarding how he will know that the right time to close the screen of his career has arrived, the former world number 1 stated that he will listen to his heart.
“Of course, I also thought about retiring during the pandemic and I learned to appreciate life outside the world of tennis,” admitted Angelique Kerber.
The tennis player who advanced to the fourth round of the 2020 US Open also added that thoughts of retirement were still on his mind.
“Of course there are still thoughts. But I will completely trust my heart and my feelings,” added Kerber.
The rankings of the tennis players who qualified for the fourth round of the 2020, Australian Open have fallen quite sharply as a result of being absent from a number of tennis tournaments and ending the 2020 season ranked 25th in the world. During the 2020 season, he played only six tournaments, including making all three Grand Slams.
In the 2016 season, he successfully married the Australian Open and US Open titles.
