WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, and linear champion Tyson Fury, delivered a fight that resulted in a controversial null verdict, after 12 rounds at Staples Center.
WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight title holder Anthony Joshua, who is by far the most visible boxer in the Hearn team, has a scheduled fight scheduled for April 13 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Hearn has made it clear that his company will not make any concessions and that there is no question of finalising “ridiculous agreements” to fight Wilder or Fury, and that the company’s leaders will not succumb to the pressures made by the company public if the terms of the fight are not satisfactory to him.
The veteran promoter also rejected Fury’s comments that the fact that he is the linear champion still has great significance in a weight division.
“AJ’s choice is Wilder because when you collect belts, what he’s trying to do … he wants to become the unified champion.” Hearn said.
“He would like to fight Fury too, but for now I think Wilder is who he wants. There are three or four options right now for us. Sooner or later, fight fans will be able to get everything they want, but we’re not going to make any ridiculous deals – that’s a certainty.
“Finally, we have the last word on the fighting. We have AJ. I’m sorry but if you go to work and you’re not happy with your salary, you probably have to change jobs and look for a better deal.” Hearn added.

Fury and Wilder have called out Joshua, but Hearn insists both boxers need to concentrate on building their own popularity before anything else.
“Since I’m at the helm of a big company that Anthony Joshua is a part of and we’re on the same wavelength collectively – that means we’re not going to accept silly deals. We will not consider what people say … ‘you must do this or that’.” Hearn said.
“We do not have to do anything. I have to get up in the morning and try to stay up until I have to go back to bed at night – these are the two things I have to do.” Hearn added.
