Antonio Conte Presses InterMilan to Sell 2 Players

Antonio Conte criticized the management of Inter Milan which was considered to be moving slowly in the transfer market this summer. The former Chelsea manager thinks Inter Milan are slow in selling players who have not been included in the plans for next season. He said this during a press conference ahead of the match against Manchester United at the 2019 International Champions Cup Tournament on Friday (7/19/2019).

“There is no point in denying the fact that we are having difficulties,” Conte said. “There are still big problems with players coming in and out, especially those who are supposed to leave, “he said. Blatantly, Conte mentioned two of his men, Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan, were no longer needed at the club and were invited to look for new clubs.

However, until now no other club has seriously proposed to win the two. Icardi is rumored to be in the pursuit of Juventus, but the defending champions of the Italian League have not made a serious move. As a result, this made Conte upset that he had difficulty building a team if there were “useless” players.

“If you ask me to be honest, I would say that we are quite late on schedule in various fields,” Conte said. “We have to move. We have been very clear in preparing the plan for the players who come in and out, but we are late, especially because nobody really left”, he further added.

In fact, Conte’s resentment was understandable because he still hoped to bring in a Manchester United bomber, Romelu Lukaku. In the transfer market this summer, without the sale of both, Inter Milan will not have enough funds to hijack the Belgian striker from Old Trafford.

Hence, Conte demands the club to work faster if they do not want to face a difficult situation in the coming season. “You have to move faster now and realize there is still a lot to do in a difficult battle,” Conte said.

On Saturday (7/20/2019), Inter Milan will face Manchester United in the 2019 International Champions Cup preseason. The match will be held at the Singapore National Stadium.
