Arsenal are advised not to need to bring in additional players in the 2023 winter transfer market. This was stated by former Arsenal player, Lauren Etame Mayer.
According to Lauren, Arsenal’s current strength is sufficient. He also advised Mikel Arteta not to bring in new players in the January 2023 transfer market. According to him, the Gunners – Arsenal’s nickname – must believe in the existing players.
As is well known, Arsenal have only brought in two new players in the 2023 winter transfer market. The two players are Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior.
The two of them were brought in to add to the strength of the Gunners who are trying to win the 2022-2023 Premier League title. Arsenal spent £27 million or approximately Rp.505 billion to buy Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Meanwhile, Arsenal spent 25 million euros or around Rp.409 billion for Spezia to get Kiwior. Seeing Arsenal’s transfer activity, Lauren explained that the Gunners no longer needed new players in the January 2023 transfer market.
For him, the two players were enough to add to Arsenal’s strength. Furthermore, Lauren said that Arteta only needed to focus on the current players.
“Arsenal need to focus on the current team they have and not on new potential additions,” said Lauren.
The 46-year-old man also questioned Thomas Partey’s condition, which according to many parties would be injured. According to him, the 29-year-old midfielder has no problems and is focused on helping Arsenal win the title this season.
“Why should we believe that Thomas Partey will get injured? He’s fine, looking strong and we have to focus on the positives rather than potential problems like an injury to Partey,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the 2022-2023 Premier League continuation, Arsenal will face Everton. Later the match will take place at Goodison Park, Everton headquarters on Saturday, February 4 2023.
