Arsenal failed to qualify to the next season Champions League

Arsenal

Unai Emery stay to be positive despite Arsenal giving up 1-4 of Chelsea in the 2018/19 Europa League final on Thursday (5/30) morning. After struggling to reach the final, Arsenal were still not strong enough to lift the number two trophy in Europe.

The defeat was clearly a big blow to Arsenal. They have failed to penetrate the top four of the Premier League, and are now throwing away the only chance to return to the Champions League next season. Inevitably, Arsenal must be satisfied with the Europa League again next season.

Failing to break into the Champions League can be a big problem for a club like Arsenal. They are trying to build a squad by bringing in great players. Without the Champions League, wooing top players would be more difficult.

Emery realized the problem, but he was not too worried. According to him, Arsenal still has its own attraction in the eyes of the players

Despite failing to win the trophy, Emery felt Arsenal had met their main target. The current Arsenal squad has revived the fire of their struggle. Arsenal are far more competitive than previous seasons.

Emery admitted they might have difficulties in bringing the target in the transfer market this time, but at least Arsenal have found the right path and must continue to trace it.

“Maybe, but I think we are a big team. I think Arsenal is a big name in the world of football. Many players want to play here. We are in the process and we must – in this process – strengthen our ideas, strengthen our play. That is our foundation when starting this season, “Emery said on Arsenal.com.

“The idea is to be more competitive as a team, to approach other strong teams, and we managed to do that, right now, it is not enough for our target, but next week and next year that idea will continue to be in our minds.”

Furthermore, despite asserting Arsenal must strengthen the squad, Emery has not determined the target targeted by Arsenal. He was quite satisfied with the current Arsenal squad, Arsenal might only bring in a maximum of two new players.

“I don’t know our target for next year, but the club is working to develop and do everything in our way. We have many players who have the possibility to grow and grow with us.”

“For example, we have given many young players their first final experience. I am positive about our future, creating our way with young players who continue to improve in our ways,” he concluded.

Arsenal’s defeat of Chelsea in the Europa League final proved the difference in the quality of the two teams. Arsenal’s squad is not good enough to compete with Chelsea.
