Arsenal won 2-1 over Fulham after a comeback in the fourth week of the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (27/8). The win was Arsenal’s fourth in a row at the start of the season.
Arsenal immediately appear aggressive from the first minute. The collective play from foot to toe was demonstrated by Mikel Arteta’s team.
In the eighth minute Gabriel Jesus fired a shot but was sideways from the Fulham goal. Joao Palhinha provided a counter-attack in the 10th minute which had yet to lead to a goal.
Continuing to attack, Arsenal again got a golden opportunity through Martinelli’s kick. Unfortunately, again the ball still did not meet the target.
The Gunners are cool to attack leaving gaps in defense. Mitrovic almost put Fulham ahead after 32′ Fortunately, the striker’s header was still able to be countered by Ramsdale.
Bernd Leno made a save by denying Bukayo Saka’s shot in the 33rd minute. Gabriel Jesus’ opportunity in the first half injury time was also blocked by Fulham’s defense.
Arsenal, who were curious to score goals, continued to attack Fulham in the second half. Odegaard’s left-footed shot in the 54th minute was saved by Leno. One minute later it was Gabriel Jesus’ turn, who was arrested by Leno.
Instead of winning first, Arsenal conceded a goal by Aleksandar Mitrovic who took advantage of a defender Gabriel Magalhaes’ blunder.
After getting a pass from the right side, Magalhaes tried to play the ball to build attacks from below. Unfortunately for Magalhaes, Mitrovic was able to snatch the ball which was immediately placed in the bottom right corner of Aaron Ramsdale’s goal in the 56th minute.
Eight minutes after conceding the Gunners gave a positive response with a goal back. Martin Odegaard scored the goal in the 64th minute after receiving Bukayo Saka’s pass.
In the 86th minute Arsenal broke into Fulham’s goal through Gabriel Magalhaes’ goal. But the goal was first checked by VAR because it had an incident involving goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Referee Jarred Gillett finally approved the goal. Arsenal turned 2-1 ahead over Fulham.
Without additional goals in the remaining matches, Arsenal won 2-1 over Fulham in the Premier League. Victory over Fulham made Arsenal achieve a perfect record by always winning in four games earlier this season.
Arsenal’s victory took them firmly at the top of the Premier League standings with 12 perfect points. Meanwhile, Fulham are in 11th position in the standings with five points
