Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, believes Jurgen Klopp is in a dilemma ahead of the duel between the Reds – Liverpool’s nickname – and Arsenal in the 2023-2024 Premier League. The reason is, Klopp is confused about whether to choose Conor Bradley or Trent Alexander-Arnold.
It is known that Conor Bradley managed to show a good performance when Liverpool won 4-1 over Chelsea in the 22nd match of the 2023-2024 Premier League. The match will be held at Anfield Stadium, Thursday 1 February 2024.
Appearing for 68 minutes, the 20 year old player successfully scored one goal. Not only that, Conor Bradley also recorded two assists.
Previously, Conor Bradley had received the trust of Jurgen Klopp to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in the right-back position. The reason is, Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently injured.
Conor Bradley also successfully contributed one assist when the Reds won 4-0 over Bournemouth. Then, he also scored two assists when Liverpool eliminated Norwich City 5-2 in the fourth round of the 2023-2024 FA Cup.
With Conor Bradley’s good performance, Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp has a real dilemma in deciding which player will occupy the right-back position. In fact, he thinks Klopp will play Trent Alexander-Arnold in the midfield position and entrust Conor Bradley as right back.
“Bradley’s performance gave Jurgen Klopp a real dilemma about what he did at the weekend. He had his best performance, he had rhythm, but Liverpool have needed a backup (right back) for a long time,” said Jamie Carragher, quoted by Sky Sports, Friday ( 2/2/2024).
“The other thing we always talk about with Trent is will he eventually play in midfield? “If Bradley continues to play at the level he has, you have to start thinking about how to get those two players into the team.”
Even though Trent Alexander-Arnold showed good performances as a midfielder, Jamie Carragher believes Klopp will not change the position of Liverpool’s current midfield trio. Because Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Alexis Mac Allister are showing good performance in Liverpool’s midfield.
With these conditions, it will be interesting to watch Liverpool’s visit to the Emirates Stadium, on Sunday 4 February 2024. If they succeed in winning over the Gunners – Arsenal’s nickname, Liverpool will be further away from their competitors in the race for the Premier League title this season.
