The 2023 Italian League season has been a topsy turvy ride for many teams as the world has got to witness some fantastic and highly unpredictable matches. One such highly anticipated match of the season, AS Roma fought AC Milan to a 1-1 draw one a spectacular nail biting finish that saw both teams score a goal each during extra time past 90 minutes on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico.
With the entire 90 minutes used up and not a single goal scored by either side, the fans expected a draw. As the referee signaled 10 minutes of extra time, Roma and Milan shifted gears and went in all cylinders to clinch just one deciding goal. As it happened, AS Roma got the ultimate lead at 90+4 minutes when Tammy Abraham scored for his side. The crowd erupted as the team on the ground celebrated an almost certain victory.
But the Gods up in the heavens had their final cards to play. In an unexpected turn of events, Alexis Saelemaekers scored the equaliser out of the blue with just a few minutes left for the final whistle. At 90+7 minutes, AC Milan found themselves leveled 1-1 with AS Roma as the referee called the end of the match a couple of minutes later. With a nail biting end, both teams finished at par and walked away with 1 point each.

The match lived up to every expectation that the fans and critics had as it ended up being a back and forth affair, with both teams fighting for the win.
With this draw, AS Roma had to be content with holding onto fifth place in the Italian League standings for the 2022–2023 season with 57 points. They are two points behind third-place Juventus and have the same number of points as fourth-place AC Milan.
