Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is not just a good player but a fantastic one incredibly gifted and have groomed himself as one among the best after staged a stunning comeback with two late goals to beat Atalanta to book a spot in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
Speaking at his press conference, Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has believed the Brazilian striker Neymar is an outstanding player who knows how to handle success and failure.
“He is a player we paid a lot of attention to, because we saw that’s as soon as he had a little space, he would become very dangerous,” Gasperini said.
“Neymar is a great football player, a crack. And he proved it again as well, even though I believe we managed to limit him quite often. However, he proved he is a top player.” Gasperini added.
Speculation has been rife that the 26-year-old striker is unhappy at the Parissian and could join Real Madrid. Although rumours of Madrid’s interest continue to mount, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has denied that Neymar will be leaving this summer.
Kylian Mbappe on the other hand is getting better and better. Gasperini said the 21-year-old Frenchman introduction gave PSG a huge help.
“Without any doubt his entrance gave PSG some energy they were losing at that moment. It was definitely a fundamental, importance entrance, because of his accelerations and the dangers he caused.” Gasperini said.
“Therefore, the goal we conceded, the equaliser especially, leaves us with great bitterness. However, it seemed that the worst was over, that we had overcome it.” Gasperini added.
The German club RB Leipzig will face PSG in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday after defeating Atletico Madrid by a 2-1 final score.
