Former Manchester United player, Louis Saha, advises young Man United player, Alejandro Garnacho, not to suffer the same fate as several other academy players who cannot fulfill their potential. Saha said that Garnacho could follow the work ethic of his Man United team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, if he wanted to become one of the best players.
Garnacho continues to wow Manchester United fans with his performances for the club, especially in recent games. After providing two assists in Man United’s win over Aston Villa in the League Cup, Garnacho came on again as a substitute and scored the team’s winner over Fulham in the 90+3 minute. Thanks to Garnacho’s goal, Man United came out victorious in the duel against Fulham with a score of 2-1, in the 2022-2023 Premier League match, Sunday (11/13/2022).
Garnacho, the 18-year-old player, showed incredible speed. He chased a through ball from Christian Eriksen on the edge of the box, which he immediately finished in. Praise also came from various parties for Garnacho, including former Manchester United players, one of which was Louis Saha.
Saha also gave tips or advice to Garnacho not to suffer the same fate as Federico Macheda or Adnan Januzaj, players who were predicted to shine with Man United, but failed to maximize their potential. “Yes, it can happen, that’s why he (Garnacho) has to keep working hard,” Saha said.
The former French national team striker gave directions so that Garnacho could follow the work and training of one of the world’s best players, Cristiano Ronaldo. “The best example is Cristiano Ronaldo, you can see his work ethic and ambition. He does have arrogance, or you could say confidence. If you can balance these two things, you can go a long way in your career,” said the 44-year-old.
In addition to Saha, the former captain of the Red Devils, Gary Neville also gave high praise to Garnacho, an Argentinean player. According to Neville, Garnacho’s late goal against Fulham reminded him of the goal scored by Ronaldo 15 years ago, against the same team, on the same pitch, namely Craven Cottage.
The victory over Fulham brought Man United only three points away from the team in fourth place in the Premier League standings, Tottenham Hotspur. The duel versus Fulham is the last match played by Man United before the Premier League competition undergoes a break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which will start on 20 November.
