During a press conference on last Wednesday, the Lyonn president Jean-Michel Aulas drew up the roadmap of Olympique Lyonnais for the next transfer window. The Olympique- Lyonnais should separate from several players next summer, but also plans to recruit high-quality players.
Apart from the departure of Samuel Umtiti at FC Barcelona last summer, Olympique Lyonnais managed to retain all his other executives, including Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso. But the deal could be very different at the end of the season since Jean-Michel Aulas ensures that there will be significant sales.
“We did not voluntarily surrender players because we had an offer on Tolisso, and other offers but we did not wish. It will be necessary to look on the part selling players, what happens at the end of the year. I think there will be very significant sales before June 30,” Aulas told media.
Alexandre Lacazette, who recently opened the door to a departure in the event of a good proposal, and Tolisso, for which Lyon had rejected a 37.5 million euros offer from Naples last summer, are among the players likely to leave Club rhodanien.
The striker has already advised he could be on his way out of France Ligue 1 campaign at the end of the season, helping the club to start preparing.
“We have 170 million euros of potential surplus value and there will be a time when the stock will have to flow, as we could with Samuel Umtiti or Karim Benzema,” Aulas added.
But this is not a lack of ambition of Lyon since the Lyonnais management expect to make use of these significant gains realized with players trained at the club to recruit quality elements, such as this winter with Memphis Depay .
