Back in training, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are not expected to be available for the Manchester Derby. Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag, hopes for both of them to return soon but their condition is still very doubtful.
The 2022-2023 Premier League will resume this weekend. The most exciting thing, Manchester United will stop by the house of its neighbour, Manchester City, at the Etihad Stadium in the match which will be held on Sunday 2 October 2022.
There are serious concerns from the Manchester United camp, because Rashford and Martial are doubtful. The condition of both allegedly still not fit enough after smothering injury.
Times journalist Paul Hirst reports that Rashford and Martial are highly doubtful to appear against Man City. This is certainly a big loss for the stronghold of Manchester Red.
Rashford and Martial’s injuries are actually recovering. Reported by the Mirror, Friday (30/9/2022), both of them have joined the Red Devils training session – the nickname of Manchester United.
However, the coach, Erik ten Hag still hinted that Rashford’s injury would not last long. The Dutch coach predicts that the English player will return in the near future.
“He has a muscle injury, the injury won’t last long, we hope he will be back in the team soon,” Ten Hag was quoted as saying by the same source. The absence of Rashford and Martial will certainly make Ten Hag rack his brains.
Moreover, the match schedule in October is quite busy. Not to mention, the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Elanga is also declining. It will be interesting to see what Ten Hag will do in the Manchester Derby.
