Bahrain National Team Coach, Dragan Talajic, asked for help from the Japanese National Team in the remaining Group C matches of Round 3 of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian Zone. He hopes that the Blue Samurai will defeat all opponents including the Indonesian National Team in June 2025.
The request came after Bahrain was defeated by Japan 0-2. The matchday seven match took place at Saitama Stadium, Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The result put Bahrain in a tight spot. They are in fifth place in Group C with six points from seven matches. Dilmun Warriors also have a goal difference of -7 (5-12).
Bahrain’s chances of qualifying directly are almost closed. They are four points behind the Australian National Team in second place, and three points behind the Saudi Arabian National Team in third place
This made Talajic ask for help from Japan. Considering that Hajime Moriyasu’s team has qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, he hopes that the team in blue uniforms will continue to appear fierce in the remaining three matches.
“I hope and pray that Japan can get nine points in the next three matches, to make our path easier,” said Talajic, laughing, as reported by GDN, Friday (3/21/2025).
In the next three matches, Japan will face Saudi Arabia (March 25) at home, Australia (June 5) at the opponent’s headquarters, and host the Indonesian National Team (June 10, 2025). The three opponents are Bahrain’s direct competitors!
Meanwhile, Dragan Talajic’s troops will face the Indonesian National Team (March 25) in Jakarta, Saudi Arabia (June 5) at home, and visit the Chinese National Team’s home (June 10). The schedule is relatively difficult.
Realistically, Bahrain’s chances are to qualify for the fourth round by finishing in 3rd or 4th position. Their competitors for that position are Indonesia and China.
Therefore, it is worth waiting to see whether Japan will help Bahrain or not. After all, their fate is in their own hands!
