Barcelona beat Leganes 3-1 in the Spanish League

Barcelona defeated Leganes 3-1 in the match of Week 20 of the Spanish La Liga at the Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday (20/1).

Barcelona winning goals were scored by Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. The visitors had to provide resistance at the beginning of the round so as to make Barcelona difficult to penetrate the opposing team’s defense.

Striker Ousmane Dembele who appeared as a starter in the match had a chance to threaten the Leganes defense through his movements. Dembele dribbled past Silva and Siovas on the opponent’s defense, then released a bait. However, no Blaugarana player welcomed the ball.

Barcelona only can break into the Leganes goal in the 32nd minute. It was Dembele who played nicely in the match as the opening goal scorer in the Leganes goal.

Goals originated from Barcelona’s quick counter-attack. Dembele balled in front of the penalty box, he passed the ball to Jordi Alba who entered the penalty box.

Alba then sent the ball back to Dembele who stood in front of the goal and fired a flat shot that led to the far post without being able to be stopped by the Leganes goalkeeper Ivan Cuellar.

In the 40th minute, Barcelona should have been awarded a penalty after Cuellar dropped Suarez in the penalty box. However, the referee considered it not a violation.

The first round match ended for Barcelona’s excellence.

Entering the second half, Barcelona again launched an attack on the Leganes defense. Blaugrana created opportunities in the 48th minute. Coutinho fired hard after getting feedback from Dembele, but the ball still deviated above the opponent’s goal.

Barcelona were then shocked by the goal of Leganes to score 1-1. Martin Braithwaite’s goal was scored to finish Youssef En-Nesyri’s cross from the right.

The team of giants Catalonia also had time to experience difficulties in scoring after being equalized by Leganes. They could only break the deadlock in the 71st minute.

Suarez succeeded in snatching the bouncing ball of Lionel Messi’s shot which was pushed over by goalkeeper Cuellar. The Uruguayan attacker moved quickly to grab and kick the ball to nest into the Leganes goal. Messi himself appeared on the bench in the 64th minute replacing Carles Arlena.

Entering an additional minute of the second half, Messi scored a goal while adding the winning score to 3-1. La Pulga got a flat pass from Jordi Alba who immediately finished it into a goal. The 3-1 score lasted until the game ended and Barcelona secured three points at their home.
