Barcelona Beaten by Real Betis 3-4 at Camp Nou Stadium

Barcelona lost 3-4 to Real Betis, in the Spanish La Liga 2018/2019 match at Camp Nou Stadium on Sunday (11/11). Real Betis’ winning goals were scored by Junio Firpo with two goals, Joaquin and Giovani Lo Celso. While the goal from Barca scored by Lionel Messi two goals and Arturo Vidal in the second round.

Playing with reinforced Messi, Barcelona actually had left behind two goals in the first half through goals from Firpo and Joaquin.

Barcelona tried to intensify their attack to pursue a two-goal deficit in the second half. The directional team of Ernesto Valverde even appeared to keep pressing the Real Betis defense in front of their own supporters at Camp Nou.

The first attack in the round was launched by Lionel Messi. He swerved Sidnei then fired hard, but his curling shot was off the left side of the goal. Barcelona’s effort to score a goal paid off after receiving a penalty in the 66th minute. Jordi Alba was dropped by Tello in the penalty box. Messi also managed to become the executor of the penalty and brought Barcelona to reduce the score to 1-2.

Disasters returned to the Blaugrana in the 71st minute. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen conceded again, this time by Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. He managed to beat Ter Stegen after utilizing feedback from Tello.

Arturo Vidal who entered replacing Arthur in the 46th minute managed to break the deadlock Barca. He scored in the 79th minute utilizing assists from Munir El Haddadi. Barcelona again experienced bad luck after scoring a goal. They had to play with 10 players after Ivan Rakitic was hit by a second yellow card in the game in the 82nd minute for a foul violation of Lo Celso.

Just one minute later, Barcelona conceded again to be 2-4 through a goal from Canales utilizing assists from Firpo. Barca really was embarassed in their own cage.

Messi reduced the score through his goal at the end of the match. The match ended and the Blaugrana suffered a 3-4 defeat of their guests at home.

These results make Barcelona not move at the top of the standings but are only one point away from the three teams below: Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, and Deportivo Alaves who both package 23 points. Sevilla earned full points after beating Espanyol 2-1, Atletico Madrid successfully defeated Athletic Club 3-2, and Alaves won when entertaining Huesca.

Meanwhile Real Madrid moved up to sixth after reaping a 2-4 victory at Celta Vigo headquarters. Nevertheless, Los Blancos are only four points away from Barcelona who are top of the standings.
