Barcelona Beats Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid suffered another defeat from Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, this time with a score of 0-1 in the Spanish League advanced 2018/2019 which took place Saturday (2/3).

After the El Clasico match in the Copa del Rey, Madrid and Barcelona met again in the Spanish capital in the 26th week of the domestic competition.

The match involving two Spanish giants took place with quite high intensity since the start of the match. Los Blancos and Blaugrana alternately exchanged attacks and pressed each other.

Barcelona took the lead in the 26th minute. Ivan Rakitic maximized the opportunities he got. Collaborating with Sergi Roberto through a one-two pass, Rakitic then chased the regional ball. Despite being overshadowed by Sergio Ramos, Rakitic is still able to reach the ball and open fire which cannot be reached by Courtois.

Madrid tried to reply to the goal by carrying out a variety of attacks. Short bait, crossing, until the ball is dead. While Ernesto Valverde’s men were not complacent with a one-goal advantage and continued to look for opportunities to score a second goal.

Towards the first round match broke up, the tension of the match had risen because Sergio Ramos made Lionel Messi sprawl. In the replay, Ramos’s hand gestures regarding Messi’s face were seen.

The match in the second half did not change significantly. Madrid and Barcelona do not lose the passion for scoring.

El Real, which often utilizes the wing side, optimizes the presence of Vinicius and Sergio Reguilon. The efforts of Madrid to exploit the wing side were not matched by the ability to produce good final passes so as not to produce meaningful opportunities.

In the 56th minute Vinicius tried to make a final settlement that was still capable of being driven by Ter Stegen.

Two minutes later turn to Arthur and Jordi Alba’s cooperation which makes Madrid’s defense under threat. Luckily for the hosts, the settlement of Alba is still off the mark.

Vinicius again presented a threat in the 59th minute which ended with a block from Lenglet.

Barcelona tried to play patiently and wait for a gap in Madrid’s defense. Entering the 70th minute Messi who saw the room give the ball to Ousmane Dembele. The score did not change because Dembele’s shot was still wide.

Difficulty penetrating Barcelona’s solid defense, Vinicius and Casemiro tried to release long-range shots that were inaccurate.

At the end of the match, Barcelona was increasingly convenient to play the ball while Madrid, who were like being hunted for time, tried to direct the ball to the final third of the field.

A score of 1-0 which lasted until the game broke up, making Barcelona collect 60 points or 10 points ahead of Atletico Madrid and 12 points from Real Madrid.
