These were Lewandowski’s fourth and fifth goals of the season and saw him score in five consecutive games in all competitions. Then, Joao Cancelo added a goal in the 89th minute which ensured the Blaugrana won 3-2.
This is the fifth consecutive win for the defending LaLiga champions. The achievement of these three points also brought Barca to the top of the standings, overtaking Real Madrid and Girona.
Barcelona took over the top of the Spanish League with a collection of 16 points from six matches. Their points collection matches Girona’s points collection, but Barcelona has the right to be in first place thanks to their superior goal difference.
However, Barcelona’s position could change. Real Madrid will only play their sixth match on Monday (25/9) at Atletico Madrid headquarters.
Regardless of the position in the standings, what Barcelona presented in the match against Celta Vigo has once again become a historical record. According to the Diario AS report, this was the third fastest comeback Barcelona had ever made after trailing by two or more goals in the 80th minute. The two fastest comebacks Barca ever made were in 1935 against Athletic Bilbao (five minutes) and against Getafe (eight minutes, 14 seconds) in 2013.
Week 6 of the Spanish League match on this schedule closes with a match between Almeria and Valencia. The duel between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw which meant that Valencia was stuck in 5th place, while Almeria could not get out of the bottom of the Spanish League standings.
