FC Barcelona has reportedly rejected a 200 million euros offer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for young superstar Lamine Yamal.
This offer from PSG highlights their proactive approach to offset the imminent departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
Barcelona’s rejection of the offer demonstrates their belief in Yamal’s talent and his importance to the club’s future.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta has expressed confidence in Yamal’s potential and has stated that the club does not have the need to accept such offers.
“I want to make it clear that we have no intention of selling our young talents, including Yamal.” Laporta said.
“We believe in his potential and see him as a crucial part of our future plans.”
“We have rejected the offer because we have confidence in Yamal’s sporting potential and believe that he is the future of our team.”
“We are not in urgent financial need, and we want to build a strong squad by investing in our youth players from the academy. Selling our stars is not part of our plans.” Laporta added.
Lamal had an impressive performance in the last season, scoring 7 goals in 53 games across all competitions.
His contributions on the field were notable, and he made a significant impact in several matches.
PSG is reportedly willing to break the bank to secure Lamal’s services, with rumours of a staggering fee of around 200 million euros being mentioned.
Barcelona is determined to hold onto Lamal and has inserted a 1 billion euro buy-out clause in his contract to deter potential suitors.
While PSG’s interest in Lamal is evident, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will entertain any further offers or if Lamal himself is open to a move.
As of now, Barcelona seems determined to keep hold of their prized youngster, and Lamal’s future at the club appears secure.
