Wonderkid Barcelona, Marc Guiu, is certain to appear at the 2023 U-17 World Cup which will be held in Indonesia. The 17 year old player will defend the Spanish U-17 national team.
The Spanish U-17 national team officially announced the list of players for the 2023 U-17 World Cup on Tuesday (24/10/2023). This was released via the official national team account on Twitter, @sefutbol.
Marc Guiu’s name was among the six attackers. In total, coach Jose Lana called up 21 players to strengthen the Spanish U-17 National Team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
Marc Guiu himself has only recently created a sensation for his club, Barcelona. He made his debut with the senior team in the match against Athletic Bilbao in the 2023-2024 Spanish League, Monday (23/10/2023).
Entering in the 79th minute to replace Fermin Lopez, Guiu managed to score a goal just a minute later after maximizing a pass from Joao Felix. Thanks to his goal, Barcelona successfully won the match with a score of 1-0.
The Spanish U-17 national team itself is in Group B at the 2023 U-17 World Cup. They compete with Canada, Mali and Uzbekistan.
They played all three matches at Manahan Stadium, Solo. Spain will open the tournament by facing Canada on November 10, 2023.
Three days later, they faced Mali. Spain closes its work in the group phase by facing Uzbekistan on November 16 2023.
