Enea Bastianini has admitted that he does not yet know whether he will take part at Spain Grand Prix this Sunday.
“I have the same feeling today as during the test with the Panigale at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli last Monday, it didn’t feel right. But on the other hand I’m happy because I’m back on my Ducati.” Bastianini said.
“It was a good day but I was in a lot of pain. My situation is not good, my shoulder is not strong and it is difficult to do many laps and it is also difficult to be fast.” Bastianini added.
Bastianini had a bad race in the second round of the Sprint race just over a month ago. His fellow Luca Marini attempted to overtake but hit the Ducati Lenovo Team rider who was thrown off his machine.
The Italian landed hard on his shoulder and broke his right shoulder blade. This meant that the number three in the 2022 championship had to miss the Grands Prix of Argentina and the United States.
“Tomorrow morning (Saturday) I will visit the doctors to see how things are going. If it’s like today, or maybe a little better, then I can continue. If that is not the case then we have to make a choice, because there is no point in just doing a few laps and being slow.” Bastianini said.
“I’m here to get points, if that’s not possible then maybe we should make the decision to stop.
“The feeling is very strange. When braking I don’t feel bad, I can brake quite late. But as soon as I turn in I can’t turn the bike on its side and when changing direction I don’t have enough power in my shoulder, especially when wheelie is involved. I’m not feeling well yet.” he added.
