Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick expected an entertaining top match against Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday evening. He is also impressed by the game of the Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Haaland, who came over from Red Bull Salzburg in January transfer window, has an important role in that strong series with ten goals and three assists in ten Bundesliga matches.
“But Haaland is a huge talent. He is a young player, but he has a huge pull to the goal. He just wants to finish. He has an enormous dynamic. He is greedy, has an enormous size and is still agile. But we don’t just have to take care of him.” Flick said.
Bayern aim to continue the Bundesliga’s current trend of teams winning on the road behind closed doors when they face Dortmund in a potential title decider. The reigning champions arrive at second-placed Dortmund four points clear and on course for an eighth straight title.
Flick’s side did well to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 at the weekend to move one step closer to defending their title. The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Niklas Sule, and Corentin Tolisso are all sidelined with injury for the visitors, whereas, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marco Reus, and Nico Schulz are the absentees in the home team.
“But no decision will be made tomorrow, regardless of the outcome. There are still a few games to play after this game. It is important to push your limits in every game. It is great to have two such good teams face each other. We are all looking forward to it.” Flick said.
There will be fireworks when Bayern and Dortmund face each other at empty Signal-Iduna-Park in the Bundesliga derby.
